Software

Damit ein Computersystem die richtigen Funktionen ausführt, muss es die entsprechenden „Handlungsvorschriften” befolgen. Diese immateriellen Bestandteile eines Computersystems werden unter dem Namen Software zusammengefasst. Als Software wird dabei die Gesamtheit der Programme und Programmierhilfen eines EDV-Systems bezeichnet. Software lässt sich in Systemsoftware und Anwendungssoftware unterteilen.

In order to guarantee that a computer system executes the right functions it has to follow the corresponding instructions. These immaterial parts of a computer system are summarized under the term software. Software thereby means all programs and programming aids of a computer system. Software can be further subdivided into system software and application software.
